Brownwood Middle School will be having their Lady Cub Volleyball “Pink-Out” game on Thursday, October 16th. This year the players are “Diggin’ for a Cure,” which is the message displayed on this year’s t-shirts.
“We will be playing in honor of Debra Kirkland, Kim Harvey’s mom,” said BMS Coach Kendi McGuire. “Sixteen years ago Debra was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was recently confirmed that she is experiencing complications from that and now has bone cancer.”
Kirkland is an alumnus of Brownwood and served as an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent for the school district for 25 years.
Diggin’ for a cure t-shirts are available for $12, and anyone interested in purchasing the shirt or wanting additional information should contact Coach McGuire at kendi.mcguire@brownwoodisd.org.Games will be at Brownwood Middle School on October 16th at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. “All proceeds from t-shirts as well as concessions on October 16th will go to Debra,” noted McGuire. “Wear your pink and come out and support the Lady Cubs and Diggin’ for a Cure.”
