L. Faye Ruffin, age 90, of Brownwood, died at Senior Care Center of Brownwood, Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Mrs. Ruffin was born March 17, 1922, in DeWitt, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Albert Bryant Adams and Mary Vertner Trussell Adams.

Mrs. Ruffin was reared in DeWitt Arkansas, but lived in White Hall, Arkansas for 65 years. She moved to Brownwood in 2007 to live near her daughter and son-in-law. She worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal Army Base for 10 years as a lab technician. Before that, she was a seamstress at Pinecrest Mills in Pine Bluff.

Mrs. Ruffin was a member of First Baptist Church of White Hall, where she served for many years as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and served in several positions in many church groups.

Mrs. Ruffin was preceded in death by her husband, William Harding Ruffin in 2004, a daughter, Jeannie Ruffin Dickson in 1993, five brothers and her parents.

Her survivors include her daughter, Judy Ruffin Schneider and her husband Rev. Curtis Schneider of Brownwood, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at a date to be determined at First Baptist Church in White Hall, Arkansas, with Dr. Bob Harper officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
