Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley has welcomed Lieutenant Randall Krpoun back to the force Tuesday after nearly two and a half years of suspension from the department.
“I told Randy that he doesn’t know me and I don’t know him, so let’s start with a clean slate,” said Corley. “He has come back enthusiastic and I couldn’t ask for a better attitude.”
Charges of tampering with a government record and official oppression against Krpoun were dropped last week, allowing him to return to active duty.
Since his administration began, Chief Corley has been working on expanding the police departments’ ethics and conduct manuals. He is also working toward the department achieving a recognized status from the Texas Police Chief’s Association, a big project that will take many hours of compilation of records and policy manuals. Krpoun has been given the position of Administrative Lieutenant and will work on writing orders and coordinating what needs to be done to complete the project, according to Corley.
Corley stated that this administration has a different direction with three areas of focus which includes:
- Community Policing – BPD as a part of the community
- Drug Problem – BPD will aggressively confront illegal drugs
- Professionalism – BPD will be a professional police department
Corley stated that this recognized status from the Texas Police Chief’s Association is a highly sought after achievement among departments statewide.
