The Pecan Valley Pecan Kiwanis Club was made aware of the Brownwood Public Library’s need to restore the computer bank set aside for the kids of the community.

According to Mack McConnell, Director of the Library, the bank had to be shut down due to major software issues that prevented the Library from providing the necessary level of security desired to protect the kids from undesirable sites on the internet.

After determining the amount of funding needed to restore this service for the kids of our community, the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club issued a challenge to the Brownwood Kiwanis Club to split the amount needed. They accepted the challenge and both clubs presented Mr. McConnell with checks that will allow the Library to reinstate this service for the youth of our area.

Pictured making the presentation are (L to R) Dennis Graham, President of Brownwood Kiwanis; Mack McConnell, Director of Brownwood Public Library; and Mark Fisher, President of Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club.

Both Presidents expressed their thanks to the community for supporting the fund raisers of both clubs. It is this support that allows them to give back to the community.
