Election Day and Pancakes are a Tradition with Brownwood Kiwanis Club, 58 years of tradition in fact and Tuesday evening at the Brownwood Coliseum was no exception.

The many Kiwanians in crazy hats served up hot pancakes and sausage to thousands.  Sharply at 5pm long lines of citizens hungry for the delicious pancakes began.

The Annual Pancake Supper is the Kiwanis Club’s big fund raising event for the year, and the money raised at the event is donated to local charities and programs that help support the youth of the community.  It continues to attract a huge crowd year after year.

According to event chairman, Dee Reynolds, the event was a big success with record numbers in attendance.  Early estimates are said to be 2400-2500 in ticket sales.

“It was what we consider to be a big turnout, surpassing previous years,” stated Reynolds.  “It was humbling to see how many people came out to support the community.”
