Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club presented a second scholarship to Sam Kinnin of Early High School during a club meeting Thursday morning.
As a 10th grader at Early High School, Kinnin applied for and was awarded a $500 sophomore of the year scholarship. As a senior, he applied for and was awarded one of the five annual $1,000 scholarships.
“It was our pleasure to present Sam with the first installment of those scholarships at our meeting this morning. It’s for young people like Sam that we do what we do,” said Kiwanian Don Holland. “There is no doubt that Sam will continue to excel as he attends Mary Hardin Baylor this fall.”Club President Roy Parrack, pictured with Kinnin above, made the presentation and expressed the club’s heartfelt thanks to those in our community who support the club’s fund raisers. “It is because of this support that we can reward super kids like Sam,” said Parrack.
