The Brownwood High School Key Club has been busy spreading some joy this holiday season by decorating a Christmas tree at Chatfield Assisted Living.  The tree was decorated from top to bottom with lights, tinsel, and maroon ornaments cut in the shape of lions made by BHS freshmen and sophomores in Cody Smith’s Principles of Architecture class.

Ten students from the Key Club worked on the project over the course of three Ornament days and finished up on December 2nd with a new maroon bow for the top.  Pamela Rider, Key Club sponsor, assisted the students with the decorations for the tree that is displayed among others in the eating area.  Students were able to enjoy decorating a tree that helps to bring the atmosphere of Christmas to the residents.

“It made me realize how grateful they are for the little things,” said Austin Robinson, Key Club Treasurer and senior at BHS. “It made me happy because they will see that the tree is from the high school and they can look back on their lives. Plus, it is something bright and happy to look at while they are eating.”
