Kenneth R. Cole, age 85, of Brownwood, went to be with his Lord on February 1, 2011 at Brownwood Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday February 4, 2011 at the Eastland Cemetery in Eastland County with Pastor Sterling Lentz officiating, interment to follow under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home.
Kenneth was born on December 8, 1925 in Breckenridge, Texas to William Reagan Cole and Lela Mae (Allison) Cole. He married Paula Ann Hill Cole in 1981 in Kermit, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Robert Monroe Cole, Jack Wesley Cole, William Raymond Cole, Houston U.L. Cole, and R.V. Cole; and a sister, Emma Lee Funderburg.
Survivors include his wife Paula A. Cole of Brownwood; his wonderful mother and father in law, Jack and Joyce Hill of Brownwood; daughter, Pamiela Boothe and husband Powers of Hidden Hills California; grandchildren, Parisee and Preston Boothe of Hidden Hills, California. He is also survived by, a brother in law, Lee Funderburg of League City, TX; sister in law Jackie Brown and husband Dwight of Pampa, TX; and brother in law, Terry Hill and wife Christie of Friendswood, TX. Kenneth is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy as Third Class Seaman Machinist during World War II in 1943-46. He also served as Municipal Court Judge in Kermit during 1990-1993. Kenneth worked for 40 years for Chevron U.S.A. Corporation as a production foreman in the Snyder and Kermit Fields. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, golfing and his dog “Bogey”. He has lived in Brownwood since 2003.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Sandra Peyton and staff, Lighthouse Hospice, and the nursing staff in ICU, 2nd and 3rd floor nurses at Brownwood Regional Hospital.
