Kenneth Robert “KB” Baker, 70, of Brownwood, Texas, died Sunday June 15, 2014, at Scott and White hospital in Temple. In keeping with his wishes, his body was cremated under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home and Cremations. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 27, at the Abundant Life Church in Brownwood.
KB was born on November 20, 1943, in Bakersfield, California to Cecil and Oleta Baker.
He joined the Army when he was 17 and was stationed in France. After an honorable discharge he returned to Texas and his family. His great loves were first his family, Harleys and vintage cars. His love for these cars turned into a living, after opening his own body shop in Oildale, California, “KB’s Frame & Body Shop”.
KB was a founding member of the Knights Motorcycle Club established in 1972 in Oildale, California. He was the last surviving founding member.
Survivors include, his sister Barbara Baehr, a daughter Charlee Baker and partner Michelle Pierce, daughter Kristie Brown, son, TJ Smith, one granddaughter Misty Kuramoto, one great grandson Payton Herbert, one great granddaughter Londynn Landry, Niece Kim Swingle and husband Tommy Swingle and their daughters, Heather Bondallion, Sarah McDermott and Delese Noble. Niece Christie Beene – Singleton, her sons Brady Beene and Bailey Beene. Niece Kellie Baehr, her sons Ryan Vaughan and Christian Vaughan and his MC brothers.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Lori Lee Baker, son, Mark Brewton, father Cecil Baker, mother Oleta Baker, brother-in-law Wayne Baehr and his late MC brothers.
