Kenneth “Ken” Michael Bryant, originally from Midland but a resident of Brownwood for the past 15 years, lost his battle with throat and thyroid cancer and fell asleep at home on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, and awoke in Heaven in the arms of his Lord and Savior. He was welcomed by his mother, Hazel Lewis of Midland, and father, W.T. Bryant of Midland, who had gone before him. Ken was 66 when he departed this earth and went to be with the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Pamela Louise Bryant, his daughters and their husbands, Suzanne and Matt George and Michele Bryant and Mike Babuchna, his sister and her husband Sue and Charles Ballard, his half-brothers Dwight Bryant and Kelly Lewis, and most importantly his grandchildren, Jonathan and Hanna George and Joshua and Joseph Babuchna.

Ken was a quiet man who loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Ken was a 10-year cancer survivor and was deeply saddened when he was diagnosed with cancer 10 years later. Ken had briefly gone into remission a second time only to have the cancer return with a vengeance. When medical science had done all that was possible, he was entered in Hospice care nine months after his second diagnosis. We would like to thank all the doctors and the nurses who helped in his treatment and took such good care of Ken and his family this past year. Their dedication and devotion to their patients made this time bearable.

A scholarship fund has been created in his memory, please contact University Advancement by phone, 325-649-8006, if you would like to donate to the Howard Payne University Bryant Engineering Scholarship Fund. Ken has always been an advocate of his wife’s endeavors and wanted to support the educational pursuits of her engineering students. May God bless you and thank you to all our friends and family for their support during this time.
