Funeral services for Kenneth L. Elliott, age 83, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early with David Barnum officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Oakview Cemetery in Mullin, Texas. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Elliott passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 at his residence.
Kenneth Larkin Elliott was born March 13, 1932 in Brown County, Texas to Andrew Larkin and Mae Corine Perkins Elliott. Kenneth served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged at the rank of a Corporal on June 14, 1952 at the Marine Barracks, Naval Air Station, Barbers Point, Oaho, Territory of Hawaii, he began a career as a pipefitter. He was very proud of being a Union Pipefitter and at retirement had worked his way up to the position of being a foreman having been in charge and overseeing many large projects. Kenneth Resided in Midland for many years and returned to Brown County where he was member of the Grosvenor Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and enjoyed working on cars.
Survivors include four sons Gary Elliott and wife Terry, Kenny Elliott and wife Virginia, Greg Elliott and wife Mary, Tony Elliott and wife Kathi; one daughter Tana Rourke and husband Chris; one brother Andrew Elliott; three sisters Shirley Fletcher, Barbara Blanton and husband Preston, Darlene Miller, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Daphine Stephens and Juanita Gotcher.
