October 18, 1971 – August 22, 2015
Ken joined his Father in Heaven on August 22, 2015, losing his battle to kidney disease. Ken was a devoted loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to all who knew him.
Kenneth Dale Edwards was born to Elaine Holmes Burleson on October 18, 1971 in Abilene Texas. Ken was raised by Elaine and Billy Baccus in Abilene. He grew up playing sports, fishing, hunting and wrestling with his brothers and cousins. He loved to watch John Wayne movies with his grandfather Weldon Holmes, his love continued to grow into adulthood. In 1996 Ken met and married his soul mate, best friend and angel Christy Joy Pafford. Ken and Christy welcomed two sons, Samuel Weldon Edwards and Canyon Hunter Edwards. Ken enjoyed teaching his boys to camp, hunt, and fish and coached their football teams through 6th grade. He continued to be their biggest fan and coach in life. Throughout Ken’s life he searched for opportunities to teach and care for others. Ken completed LVN school and enjoyed caring for babies in NICU. He loved all his “extra kids” in his life Ken loved all children who came in his life, unconditionally. He spent his past times singing, writing poems and spending time with family. Ken held a very special place for his nephews Colby (Cheesy Boy) and Ethan (Fred) Baccus who he always said “did my heart good.”“I won’t be wronged I won’t be insulted I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people and I require the same from them.” – John Wayne
Ken is preceded in death by Grandparents Weldon and Alice Holmes, Grandmother Willie Burns and Step-father Billy Baccus. Ken is survived by wife Christy Edwards; 2 sons Canyon Edwards and Weldon Edwards and Fiancé Rebecka Quillen; mother Elaine and husband James Burleson; 2 brothers Keith and wife Donna Baccus, Larry and wife Cheryl Baccus; 2 sisters Kelly Edwards and Sherry Mosley, a niece and 3 nephew as well as countless others who consider him Uncle or Coach Ken.
A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Family will receive friends for fellowship at 7PM at Bangs Church of Christ 306 South 5th St. Bangs, Texas.
