Funeral Services for Kendall Cornelius, 64, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Heartland Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Zephyr Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. He passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in Brownwood.
Kendall Beckham Cornelius was born on November 9, 1946 in Brownwood to Elton Thomas and Cedah Zell Beckham Cornelius. He lived the majority of his life in Zephyr until moving to Brownwood in 2008. Kendall graduated from Zephyr High School in 1965, served in the Texas National Guard from 1965 – 1971 and retired from 3M Company after 36 years of service. He married Janette Reiger on Aug. 12, 1966 in Zephyr. He served on the Zephyr School Board for 15 years, was a member of the Brownwood Masonic Lodge #579. Since retiring he had enjoyed going to flea markets and working in his shop.

Grandchildren: Kylie Temple & Kaden Bryan of Pella, Iowa; Kori Posey & Logan Posey of Brownwood
Sisters: Myrna Wright & husband J.R. of Brownwood and Sandra Assenmacher of Abilene, Texas
Sister-in-law: Joy Cornelius of Zephyr
Father-in-law: Gordon Reiger of Zephyr
Sister-in-law: Sharon Powers and husband Johnny Salado, Texas
Brothers-in-law: Steven Reiger & wife Joyce of Zephyr; Johnny Reiger of Zephyr; and David Reiger & wife Karen of Zephyr
Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janette Cornelius, his parents and step-father Lenard Chamberlain, brother Ronnie Cornelius, mother-in-law Jo Reiger of Zephyr and brother-in-law Louis “Bud” Assenmacher of Abilene.
