KBK Martial Arts will host their first Annual Martial Arts Fair and Benefit from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. this Saturday, April 27, at 1301 Early Blvd. in Early, at their new location.

This year, KBK MA has chosen Bob Brewer as beneficiary. Mr. Brewer needs oral surgery to remove his teeth and have dentures made. He is also in need of thyroid surgery. His teeth are causing him such an infection that his doctor said that he needs them out soon or they will kill him. If you have ever been to a benefit in the Brownwood area, chances are, you have seen him onstage playing his guitar. He has spent most of his life helping others (Boys and Girls Club, CAP Cadet United States Air Force Reserve program, Brownwood Reunion, Jackie Bibby, etc.); and now, it is time to help him.

In conjunction with the martial arts fair and benefit, items such as a handmade knife with a handmade tooled scabbard donated by Mackey Custom Knives, a handmade pair of spurs donated by Ben Mackey and a handmade headstall donated by Joe Green are going to be raffled off. Organizers will be selling tickets through Saturday and will hold the drawing late in the day of the fair.

There will be live music, BBQ sandwiches by Jimmy C’s Rusty Pit BBQ (donated by Nita’s Bail Bonds and Storey Computer Solutions), martial arts demos, free self-defense lessons, fun games, face painting for the kids, and lots of door prizes. Door prizes include a $70 pair of JLo (Jennifer Lopez) sunglasses donated by Wal-Mart Vision Center, Sonic drink cards, martial arts lessons, and a portrait by a local artist.

For donations or to purchase raffle tickets, contact Bob Green at (325) 200-6464 or through Facebook at www.facebook.com/KBKMA
