The Great State of Texas Transportation Museum was the setting for a brief visit from Kay Bailey Hutchison, candidate for Governor of Texas. Ann Jones and Brownwood Mayor Bert Massey, local chairpersons for Hutchison’s campaign hosted a breakfast with the local steering committee.
Brownwood Mayor Bert Massey, a fellow student at UT Law School with Mrs. Hutchison, introduced Former Majority Leader of the US Congress, Dick Armey.
Mr. Armey, who is now Chairman of FreedomWorks, a Washington DC group which recruits, educates, trains and mobilizes hundreds of thousands of volunteer activists to fight for less government, lower taxes, and more freedom, then introduced Mrs. Hutchison.
Mrs. Hutchison shared her vision for Texas in the areas of Education, Transportation, Private Property Rights, Government Reform and issues relating to Veteran’s affairs and Family Values. She later answered questions from those attending.
