Funeral Services for Kathy Blasa Bastardo, age 70, of Brownwood, will be held Tuesday May 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brown County with Father Ramonito Torres officiating, interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation and Rosary will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. She passed away Saturday May 07, 2011 in San Angelo, Texas. Kathy was born on February 3, 1941 in Asherton, Texas to Encarnation and Margarita (Rodriguez) Rios.
She married Rudy Bastardo on November 18, 1963 in Hollis, Oklahoma; she was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother who enjoyed playing bingo, and sewing. She was also a beautician at Regis Hair Salon in Early, TX for 17 years.
Survivors include her husband, Rudy, her mother Margarita Rodriguez Rios of Herford, TX. Two sons Rudy Bastardo Jr., and Jonathan A. Hernandez. Three daughters; Irma and husband Marcelino Acuna from Dublin, TX; Stella Bastardo; also Velma and husband Onorio Hernandez of Brownwood, TX. Ten grandchildren; Cynthia N. Rojas, Adriana Acuna, Brandon Costilla, Alexis Sanchez, Shelby Hernandez, Cameron Bastardo, Chaz Bastardo, Justin Bastardo, and Janessa Bastardo. Two great-grandchildren; Alondra Bahera, and Fidel Rojas. Also, numerous brothers and sisters. She is preceded in death by her father Encarnation Rios.
