One of America’s outstanding pastel artist, Kathleen Cook, will conduct a pastel workshop from 9am-4pm at the Brownwood Art Association and Art Center on October 5, 6, 7, and a demonstration on October 8. Sessions will include a lunch break. The Art Center is located at 215 Fisk Avenue in Brownwood.
Cook has won countless professional juried competitions throughout the country, including the Pastel Artist International magazine. She has been a member of the Pastel Society of America (New York, NY International) since 1981.
Ms. Cook’s class will include elements of design, work with value and color, and complete technical information about working with pastel. She will provide emphasis on seeing, drawing, and exploring the beauty and versatility of this beautiful and popular medium.
Beginners to advanced participants are welcome at the workshop. Each will work at their own skill level and reach beyond their current abilities. There will be no pressure to make paintings. The focus will be on building confidence and understanding. In just three days, participants will be amazed and pleased with progress.
Cost of the workshop is $185.00. A $50.00 check, made out to Brownwood Art Association, and mailed to Melanie Naylor at 3800 C.R. 336, Early, TX 76802, will hold your reservation.
