Memorial service for Katharine Eileen O’Bryan Smith will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church Chapel Brownwood, Texas. Interment will follow at a later date in the Greenleaf Cemetery.
She graduated from Athens, Texas High School in 1975 and Texas A&M University in 1980.
Katharine is survived by her son, Rowan Thomas Smith of Copperas Cove, Texas; brother, Joel O’Bryan and wife Terri of Northborough, Mass.; mother, Neva Moten of Copperas Cove, Texas; father, W. Pat O’Bryan of Zephyr, Texas; and grandmother, Violet Wells of Brownwood, Texas. She is also survived by two aunts, Carol Peters of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kay Davis of Lubbock, Texas; a sister-in-law, Becky Schiberley; and two brothers-in-law, Robin Smith and Shane Lewis.
Katharine is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Shelby Smith; a brother, Daniel P. O’Bryan; and her grandmother, Vanita Martin Bell.
