Brownwood News – Karissa Means of Brownwood, has been awarded a Bachelor of Music Education (instrumental emphasis) degree, summa cum laude, from McMurry University. Means is one of 137 graduates receiving degrees during the Commencement in Hunt P.E. Center on Saturday, May 12th. Means was an honors student and earned Dean’s List honors throughout her time at McMurry.

 

 

She was Treasurer and Vice President of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honor Band Fraternity and was a member of the McMurry War Hawk marching band and the McMurry Wind Ensemble, which played in both the 2016 London New Year’s Day parade and at Carnegie Hall this year. She also performed in the Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, Trumpet Ensemble and the Steel Drum Band.
