Brownwood News – The Pecan Valley Republican Women invites you to join them in support of our newest appointed Justice for the 11th Court of Appeals Thursday March 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Texas State Technical College, 305 Booker St., Brownwood TX (entrance at the back of the building).  Justice Keith Stretcher was appointed by Governor Abbot on January 7, 2019, to serve on the 11th Court of Appeals will be the guest speaker.  Justice Stretcher will give a general history about the Court and the types of cases that are handled as well as his role as a Justice.

 

Justice Stretcher graduated summa cum laude from East Texas State University in 1976 and received a Bachelor of Science degree.  He graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1981.  Immediately after graduating from law school, Justice Stretcher practiced civil and criminal law in Marshall, Texas.  In 1983, he joined the Midland City Attorney’s office and was appointed the Midland City Attorney in 1992.  He continued in that position for over 22 years with extensive criminal, civil and appellate duties.  Justice Stretcher is a member of the State Bar of Texas.  He has previously served as President of the Texas City Attorney’s Association.  He has volunteered in various civic, school, and church activities.  He was a youth sports coach and official for over 10 years, as well as booster club president.  He served as Vice Chairman of the Midland Development Corporation and as a member of the Midland Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Committee prior to his appointment to the 11th Court of Appeals. He and his wife, Sheryl, have lived in Midland for over 35 years.
