June Ripley, age 81, of Brownwood, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tony King officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Blaylock Funeral Home. Mrs. Ripley was born Dec. 27, 1930, to Lee and Effie Strickland in Pampa, Texas. She was married to Billy Bob Ripley on March 20, 1948, in Abilene. She and Billy Bob owned and operated numerous convenient stores in and around Brownwood and Lake Brownwood from 1963 to 1975; she also worked for the Texas Youth Commission for 17 years.

She is survived by her children, OnettaWeedon and husband Bill of Austin, Terry Evans and husband Joe of Brownwood, and Pete Ripley of Brownwood; her grandchildren, Lisa Lucas and husband Eric, Kelly Weedon, Michael Rose and wife Brandy, Billy Bob Rose, Sara Manley and husband Wes, Justin Evans and wife Rynn; her great-grandchildren, C.J. Oliver, Andee Jo Rose, Wyatt Rose, Seth Rose, Hannah Rose, Laynie Evans, Cade Manley, and Connor Lucas; four sisters, Lee Tillman, Vesta Monogue, Martha Stansbery, and Mary Daniels; and two brothers Ruben and Jack Strickland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; a son, Bobby Ripley and a granddaughter, Julie Weedon; and numerous brothers.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Bobbie Petty and Solaris Hospice and her aide Rosie Holland.
