Funeral services for Julian G. Martinez, 89, of Brownwood will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10 AM at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home with Benny S. Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Martinez passed away Friday night.
Julian was born January 13, 1929 in El Paso to Alejandro and Flora (Garcia) Martinez. He was a hard-working jack of all trades from doing maintenance work and building bird houses to building the family home, along with the help of his wife, Juaquina and children. Julian was a loving husband and father; and the best decision he ever made was asking Jesus to come into his life.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children; Benny S. Martinez (Flora) of Saginaw, Linda Martinez Egge (Duane) of Winona, Minnesota, Susana Martinez Burdeshaw (Billy Joe) of Ellenwood, Georgia, Gloria Hayes of Garland and Melissa Martinez Silva (Francisco) of Hico; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and sister, Manuela “Nellie” Martinez Montellano.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juaquina and great grandson J.J. Marshall.
