Judy Slay Hughes was born November 4, 1916, to William and Agnes Slay, in Young City, TX. She married E.L. Hughes on April 21, 1939, in San Angelo, TX. Judy has lived in the Brownwood community since 1954. She graduated from John Seely Nursing School as a registered nurse and worked at Medical Arts Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brownwood.
Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her Husband, E.L. Hughes; her parents, William and Agnes Slay; her daughter Genell; her brother, Robert D. Slay and her sister Pauline Mullally.
She is survived by her two nieces, Elizabeth Brown and Judy Floyd, and her friend, Lynell Grace.
Graveside Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Eastlawn Memorial Park, located at 1921 Early Blvd, Early, TX 76802-2300.
