Judy Kay Tessaro, age 74, of Lake Brownwood, passed away at her home on Monday, July 22, following a sudden illness.
She was born January 26, 1945 at Fort Collins, Colorado, the daughter of John and Mickey Irene Sipes Stertz. Following school, she married David Tessaro on September 12, 1965 in Sterling, Colorado. They moved several times while he served in the military. They had lived at Lake Brownwood since 1998 moving from Odessa. She had worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Brownwood until her retirement. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood and active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion. She had two loves, her church and politics.
She is survived by her husband, David Tessaro of Lake Brownwood, two daughters, Janet Lee Juhumski and Leoma Mae Holt both of Missouri, and a son, Adam Scott Tessaro of New York, several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as two sisters, Jean Irene Elliot of Colorado and Linda Reis of Missouri. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Allen Stertz.
Memorial services will be held at 10 am Friday, July 26 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Mittelstadt officiating. Her body will be cremated under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
