Graveside services for Juanita Bruton Michael, age 88, of May, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the May Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Michael passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Michael was born on February 26, 1927 in Whitt, Texas, the youngest of seven children to O.T. and Ada Mae Ford Bruton. On August 14, 1948 she married the love of her life, Claude Michael, Jr., better known as Junior. Together they built a good life and raised two children, Robert and Brenda. She was a very loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Mrs. Michael was a member of the First Baptist Church in May and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 67 years, Junior of May; one son Robert Harms of Longview, Texas; one daughter Brenda Michael Tubbs and husband Kenneth of May; eight grandchildren Michael Tubbs, Mark Tubbs, Shannon Davis and husband Robert, Roy Tubbs and wife Jillian, Traci Harms Bolton, Keisha Harms Marsolan and husband Jay, Stephen Harms, and Jarred Harms; Eight great grandchildren Khyrsta Whetstone and husband James, Zachary Davis, Taylor Beane, Ethan Beane, Kalli Beck, Korban Tubbs, Kayla Tubbs, Kyra Tubbs and one Baby Tubbs on the way. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Ward, John, Crockett and Wayne; two sisters Ozell and Ophelia and by one grandson Brock Harms.
