Funeral Services for J.R. Carruth, age 66, of Blanket will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 7, 2010 at the Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Ted Kell officiating, interment to follow in Moro Cemetery under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. J.R. was in Brownwood Regional Medical Center when he went to see Jesus on July 5, 2010.
J.R. was born February 21, 1944 in Brown County to Raymond and Mildred (Brewster) Carruth. He married Disa Day on March 13, 1993 in Early,Tx. He was retired from the City of Brownwood where he worked as the supervisor of the water department, and he was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ. He will truly be missed.
J.R. is survived by his wife, Disa Carruth of Blanket; a son, James Carruth; stepdaughter, Vicki Day; and sister, Betty Franks; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Dale Carruth; late wife Patricia Robinson Carruth; brother, Terry Carruth; and sister, Paula Jones.
