Joyce Avanell Tyler Hill joined her Lord at the age of 84 years on December 27, 2014 at Abilene Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She resided at 102 Regent, Brownwood, Texas with the lover of her life for 65 years, Jack Royce Hill.
Joyce was born December 24, 1930 in Rising Star and married Jack Royce Hill on September 10, 1949. She is survived by her spouse, Jack Royce Hill of Brownwood, daughter Paula Cole of Brownwood, daughter Jacquline Brown and spouse Dwight Brown of Amarillo, and son Terry Hill and spouse Christie Hill of Friendswood. She has two sisters, Beulah Grimes and husband Donald Grimes and Betty Latimer. Joyce had six grandchildren, Shauna Renee Meek and husband Dan, Matthew Curtis Brown and wife Kellen, Cody Eugene Hill and wife Angela, Stacey Gibson and husband Brian and Jason Brown and wife Whitney. She had ten great grandchildren Katilyn Hill, Haley Hill, Jack Hill, Elise Brown, Harper Brown, Judah Brown, Eden Gibson, Jacob Gibson, Emery Brown and Cohen Brown. She loved them dearly!
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Vernice Tyler, her in-laws Eugene and Opal Hill. She had two sisters, Wilma Earleene Huntington and husband Vernon, and Sammie Marie Hight and husband, Eddie. She had one son-in-law, Kenneth R. Cole and one grandchild Angela Eugene Hill.Joyce was loved by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends and other family members.
Joyce’s services will be December 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with graveside being at Rising Star Cemetery. Family visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2014 form 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Family will gather at 102 Regent in Brownwood following the celebration of Joyce’s life.
