Joy Sue Williams, age 81, of Coleman, died Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Aaron Mitchell, pastor of Concho Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She was born Joy Sue Angel on December 30, 1937 in May, Texas to Marvin L. Angel and Hilva Stewart Angel. Joy Sue graduated from Brownwood High School and then attended Howard Payne University obtaining her nursing degree. She married Earnest E. Williams on April 6, 1957 in Brownwood, and then moved to Coleman. Joy Sue was a licensed vocational nurse at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home and Holiday Hill nursing home for a combined 15 years. She enjoyed playing dominoes, yard work, reading, caring for others, and loved her dog Dottie.
Joy Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Hilda Angel; a baby son, Gary Lynn Williams; husband Ernest E. Williams; daughter Glenda Sue Vaughn; brother Sonny Angel; grandson Justin Vaughn.
She is survived by her sons, Tony Williams and wife Renee of Coleman, and Wayne Williams and wife Margaret of Pottsboro; granddaughter Heather Turner of Abilene; grandson J.W. Vaughn of Coleman; special niece Karen Robinson; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank Coleman Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Atwood, and the staff of Holiday Hill Nursing Home for their outpouring love and compassion. A special thank you to Desiree and staff at Coleman County Medical Center for your love and support. You made her last days wonderful and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
