Joseph Wayne Hudson, 53, of Brownwood TX entered into heaven on April 27, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

A visitation will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 and a graveside service at Greenleaf cemetery at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

Joey was born July 16, 1965 in Casper, Wyoming. He was the first born son to Woodrow Wayne and Nancy Jo (Rogers) Hudson. The family moved to Brownwood, TX in May 1967 where Joey lived all his life. Joey graduated Brownwood High School in 1983. Joey started work at Section Hand Steakhouse at the age of 16 and continued working there for 36 years up to his illness. Joey married Rebecca Elizabeth McCullough on June 21, 1991. Joey was very quick witted and funny. He loved to make people laugh. He loved fishing, Texas Rangers baseball and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a very generous and caring man who would help anyone. He worked hard and played harder. He loved his family especially his mama, was never afraid to tell you that he loved you and enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Vic Hudson.

Joey is survived by his parents, Wayne and Nancy Hudson; brothers, Steven Victor Hudson, sisters, Leah and husband Brian Graf, Christina Renee and husband Robert Hetzel; Megan and husband Daniel Bowersox; and several nephews and nieces that he loved as his own, Steven Paul, Sara, Ava, Adam, Amber, Jonathon, Summer, Nathaniel, Benjamin and Ruby.

Joey was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Tex Hudson and Naomi Trent; maternal grandparents, John and Emma Rogers; aunt Wanda Fantry; sister-in-law, Therese Hudson.
