Jose F. Varela, Sr. 89, passed quietly in his home on July 18, 2015 with loved ones at his bedside. He was born on March 2, 1926.
Jose was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Varela; his brother, Gaspar (Lalo)Garcia; and his brother, Octavio Varela. Two great grandchildren Mariza & Michael.
He is survived by six children; Nora Hall and husband Sonny; Jose F. Varela, Jr. and wife Ani; Ronny Varela and companion, Mary Delgado; Orfalinda Davis and husband, Micky; Gloria Kinzer and husband James; and Richard Varela and wife Anna. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by two loyal pets; Chuy and Etta.
An avid reader, he also enjoyed gardening, tending to his flowers, garage sale shopping and spending time with his family.Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 22 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 23 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with burial in the Greenleaf Cemetery.
