Roderick B. Jones Sr. has filed for re-election as candidate for the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees in Place 3. He is currently the Vice President of the BISD Board of Trustees, and was elected to the school board in 1995 for Place 3.
Jones is a graduate of Brownwood High School and attended Sam Houston State University and Howard Payne University. He is currently employed by 3M Brownwood.
Jones and his wife, Donna, have four children, Rashya, Roderick II, Christopher and Shwanda. All have attended or are currently in Brownwood schools.
Jones is the first candidate to file in the 2010 Brownwood ISD school board election.
Three other seats on the school board will be up for election this year including place 1 (currently held by John Nickols), place 6 (currently held by Dr. Justin Murphy), and place 7 (currently held by Tim Jacobs). Seats are determined by geographic district. The last day to file for a place on the ballot is August 24, and the election will be held November 2.
