Jon Tobin, age 62, of Brookesmith, Texas passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at his home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later dater.
Jonathan Tobin was born on June 20, 1947 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Robert Milton and Kathaleen Brown Tobin. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and was married to Layne Blakestad in Richardson, Texas on June 4, 1970. They moved to Brookesmith in 1982 where they farmed and ranched. He was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Layne Tobin of Brookesmith; son, CW2 Zachary Tobin and wife Lee Ann who are stationed in Hawaii and serving in Iraq; daughter, Michelle Hart of Fairbanks, Alaska; grandchildren, Wyatt & Clayton Tobin and Kynara, Jaiden & Christopher Hart; mother, Kathaleen Tobin of Richardson, Texas; brothers, Bob Tobin and wife Willie of Pottsboro, Texas and Chris Tobin of Brookesmith; sister, Carolyn Jenkins and husband Bill of Cumby, Texas; step-mother, Sharon Tobin of Brookesmith.
Preceded in death by his father, R.M. (Bob) Tobin.
