Graveside services will be held for John William Davis Jr., 84, of Brownwood, at Eastlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Early, Texas on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Terry Bolton officiating under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mr. Davis was born on December 13, 1930 in Brownwood, Texas to John William Davis and Meta Howell Davis. He died at the Baylor Carrollton Hospice unit in Carrollton, Texas on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
Mr. Davis retired in December 1992 from General Dynamics Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas, where he worked for many years. After retirement, he returned to his childhood home in his beloved Brownwood, where he continued to be a collector and admirer of classic Desoto and Hudson automobiles. He was also an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed fly fishing in the Colorado River.Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter Johnna Hill and husband Sam of Flower Mound and his two grandchildren, Ryan and Abby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
