ClouserJohnJohn Fisher Clouser, age 94, of Brownwood and formerly of Gooding, Idaho, passed away Tuesday morning at The Chatfield Assisted Living Center in Brownwood, Texas.

He was born on June 3, 1916 in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of the late J. W. and Mary Fisher Clouser. He attended schools in Gooding and following his graduation there he attended the University of Idaho where he received a bachelor’s degree in mining and geology.  As a mining engineer, his work took him to Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Washington, Canada, and on consulting jobs in Israel.

After serving 3 ½ years in the South Pacific during W. W. II, he and his wife, the former Judy Dawson, started their home and raised four children, Michael, Patricia, Jaclyn, and William.

He loved horseback riding and golf.  He was a past master of Lincoln Lodge in Gooding, a member of Phi Gamma Delta and Sigma Gamma Epsilon honorary mining fraternities, and held a mining consultant in Israel.

He is survived by his four children: Michael Jack Clouser of Lake Tahoe, Nevada; Patricia Koslucher of Blanket; Jaclyn Hawkes of Australia; and William Edward “Bill” Clouser of Portello, Idaho.  Seven Grandchildren and ten Great Grandchildren also survive.

It was his wish that his body be cremated and no funeral services held. A celebration of his life will be held by the family at a later date.  Services were arranged by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
