Funeral services for Joe Dale Low, age 89, of Brownwood will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 1, 2018 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Mr. Low passed away Friday, December 29, 2017.  Joe (follower of Jesus Christ) was a beloved father, devoted brother, caring friend and much-adored Grandpa.  Joe was born July 29, 1928 in San Saba, Texas to Wood Lee and Sarah Louise (Jackson) Low.  His family moved to Brownwood in 1941.  He married Nelda Jane Bodine of Bangs Texas on March 17, 1955.  Joe retired from Texas Power & Light Company after 37 years of service.  After his retirement, Joe enjoyed spending time traveling to Colorado and camping in his RV with Nelda, his brothers and their wives as well as camping trips with the rest of his family and grandchildren.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching sports, playing dominoes, cards, traveling and talking/meeting new people everywhere he went.  Joe was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church and the Adult I Sunday School class (Visionaries).

Joe is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Nelda Low of Brownwood; children, Mark Edwin Low and wife Irma of Abilene, Michael Dale Low and wife Terrie of Austin, and Barry Joe Low and wife Kelly of Cypress; five grandchildren, Jamie Parks and husband Dominic, Kevin Low, Matthew Low, Emily Low, and Scott Low; brothers Jack Low and Jerry Low and wife Helen, all of Brownwood, sister Judy and husband Johnny Pittman of Nederland, sister-in-law Doris Low; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Waydene Low, Don and Patsy Low, Red Low and Millie Low.
