Funeral service for Jodie Haynes Peavey, 36, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Greater Faith Community Church. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Jodie was born April 1, 1977, in Seoul, Korea, to the parentage of Velma Haynes and George Manigo Jr. She grew up a military child and attended high school in Walterboro, S. C. At the age of 17, with her mother’s consent, she enlisted in the U.S. Army in Alamargordo, N. M. She served for two years. She was married to James Peavey in Alexander City, Ala. She moved with her husband from Alexander City to Brownwood in 2007.
Jodie had worked for Texas Juvenile Justice Department and Burkes Outlet. At the time of her death, she was working as Patient Service Coordinator for Cross Timbers Health Clinic. She was a loving wife and caring mother.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Peavey; son, Jaelen Peavey; daughter, Jaedice Peavey all of Brownwood; daughter, Alyssa Haynes of Kansas; step-daughter, Apryl Peavey also of Brownwood; one brother, John Haynes and wife Donna of Alamorgordo, N. M.; and one sister, Jamie Haynes of El Paso, Texas.
Jodie was preceded in death by both parents.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. All services are under the direction of Brownwood Funeral Home and Cremations.
