Graveside funeral services for Joanna Charles Fuston, age 79, of Brownwood, will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home. Davis-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Fuston died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Brownwood.
Joanna was born in Lansing, Michigan on August 18, 1930 to Rev. Wilbur and Mary Grace Hartley and was raised in Elwood, Indiana. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1980 and worked as an activity director for C.A.R.E, Inc and Brownwood Nursing and Rehab. She also volunteered for hospice. She married Glenn Fuston in 1995. Joanna was a member of New Life Assembly of God.
Joanna is survived by her husband, Glenn of Brownwood, a son, Larry Charles and wife Nancy of Brownwood, two daughters, Rose Pierson of Macon, Georgia and Jayne Rhea and husband Tommy Simmons of Bangs, a step-son, Coy Fuston, three step-daughters, Treva Davis, Pat Socia, and Judy Hankins, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Verle Hartley and Lee Hartley, and a sister, Dorothy Suggs.
The family suggests memorials be made in Joanna’s memory to a hospice of choice.
