A graveside funeral service for Joann Gill, age 88, of Brownwood, will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday July 8, 2017 in Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 7:00.
Mrs. Gill died Thursday, July 6, 2017.
Joann Elizabeth McCullough was born on May 31, 1929 in Brownwood to O.L. and Dovie (White) McCullough. She married Thomas Milton Gill in Brownwood on August 20, 1950. Joann was a member of the Woman’s Club and volunteered with Good Samaritan Ministries. She was also an active member of Union Presbyterian Church.
Joann is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Gill of Brownwood, a son Michael Gill and wife Joan of Little Rock, Arkansas, two daughters, LeAnn Frazier and husband Ray of Brownwood and Nancy Strasner of Brownwood; four grandchildren, Chris Dyer and wife Pam, Shelby Jones and husband Scott, Sarah Strasner and Ross Strasner and two great-grandchildren, Jake and Katie Dyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dave McCullough and a son-in-law, Josh Strasner.
The family requests that memorials be made to Good Samaritan Ministries or to Union Presbyterian Church.
