Jimmy Ray Hunter, age 77, of Bangs, passed from this life on Sunday, March 29, 2020.

The family will hold a private family graveside service in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born to Jim Elliott Hunter and Lavella Rather on October 8, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona.  He graduated from Bangs High School in 1960.  In January 1964, he joined the US Army with Company A, 503rd Military Police Battalion.  He proudly served his country until January 1970.  He married Comella Camp in September 1966 and joined in this union was her son Jimmy Lynn Pierce followed by the birth of their son James Elliott.  Jimmy later married Charlene Ann Bullard in June 30, 1970, joining in this union her daughters, Patricia June and Crystal Ann followed by the birth of their daughter, Amelia Michelle.  Jimmy worked Texans Inc. in Bangs and retired from 3M Manufacturing in 1999.

Jimmy is survived by son James Elliott, three daughters June Walker & husband Scott their children Javin & wife Jaime, Jayce & wife Katie & Jenna; Crystal Levisay & husband Lonnie their children, Laci, Lyndi & Lesley & fiancé Caleb, Amy Allen & husband Heath their children Payton & wife Wytni, Logan, Kylie, Brittany & Kristina; Brothers Dike Hunter of Coleman, Mike Hunter & Cathy of Talpa, Sister Wilma Gravell & Brother-in-Law Charlie; son Jimmy Pierce & wife Renessa their children, Kynzee and Tyler; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  As well as numerous friends that were really more like family.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Charlene Ann Hunter and parents Jim Elliott and Lavella Hunter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walker Cancer Center in Brownwood TX or a local charity of your choice.
