Performing music from his latest album, Nightlights, Needham is bringing his Nightlights World Tour 2010 to the HPU campus along with performers Echoing Angels and Jason Gray.

A Texas-based artist, Needham loves to share his faith through music. He says his sound is a combination of rock with soulful pop and a hint of blues. After signing with Tennessee-based contemporary Christian record label Inpop in 2006, he released the album Speak, followed by Not Without Love in 2008.

Additional performers include Ben Rector, Justin Cofield Band, Miranda Dodson and HPU student performers Katie Curry, One Less Stone, Vinyl Club, Chronic Frailty and Rise to the Challenge.

The free all-day concert begins at 3 p.m. and will be held in Old Main Park. HPU Fest is open to students and the Brownwood community. For the first time, the concerts will be performed on two fully produced stages, allowing for a continuous flow of music throughout the day.

“There is so much student involvement in HPU Fest – student planning, recruiting and organization participation,” said Natalie Stary, student activities director. “We are really excited about all the day has to offer HPU students as well as members of the community.”

JimmyNeedhamHPU Fest will be held in conjunction with Stinger Daze, a one-day event providing prospective students with the opportunity to experience student life on campus while interacting with current students, faculty and staff.  Admitted students for the Fall 2010 semester will also have the opportunity to meet their advisors and register early for classes.

HPU Fest will also feature a chili cook-off, refreshments, vendor booths and artists’ merchandise for sale.
