Jesse “J.D.” Canada, age 78, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at a local nursing home.

Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Regency Cemetery in Mills County with Bro. Alan Wallace officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Jesse was born to Willie Clifton and Ruby Lee (Burnet) Canada on November 7, 1939, in Tom Green County; he was later adopted by Charles and Leona Lobstein. He was a long haul truck driver, visiting nearly every state. J.D. loved working with his hands and tinkering around in his shop.

J.D. is survived by daughter, Danella Orum and husband Steve of Houston; two sons, Jimmy Canada of Brownwood and Jeff Canada of Brownwood; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Morris of Coleman; and half-sister, Juanelle Tidwell of Dumas.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma “Parkey” Canada; a daughter, Leona Canada; his parents, Charles and Leona Lobstein; and brothers, Ronnie Donica, Glynn Lobstein, and Charlie Canada.
