Jerry Wayne Welch, age 79, of Winchell, passed away Saturday evening at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday in the Cedar Point Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
He was born May 14, 1931 in Brownwood the son of the late Earvin and Alice Hughes Welch. He was married to Gayle Nelson in Brownwood on April 4, 1951. He was a heavy equipment operator retiring from Vulcan/White’s Mines after 35 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had been a lifetime resident of Brown County. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Welch of Winchell

Roger Welch of Brownwod
2 Sisters – Clarice Davis of Granbury
Margaret Seward and husband Denny Gordon of Brownwood
8 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Kemp Davis
