A memorial service for Jerry Wayne (J.W.) Cox, age 66, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the New Beginning’s Church in Brownwood. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early. He passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at his residence.
J.W. was born on May 29, 1948 in Brownwood, Texas to Cecil Earl (Judy) and Lois Inez Banks Cox. On July 26, 1968 he was married to Judy Steele in Brownwood. He was a lifetime resident of Brownwood. Before retiring he had worked in the oil fields, for Johnny King House Moving and was also a welder.
Survivors include his daughters Melissa Day and husband Marshall of South Heart, North Dakota, Jackie McMullen and husband Mike of Corsicana; nine grandchildren Austin, Cheyenne, Matthew, Ethan, Myah, Cat, Mason, Faith and Peyton and by two brothers Jackie Cox and wife Juanita of Brownwood and Cecil Cox of Fairfield, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
