Jerry Wayne Baker, age 68, of Brownwood, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in a local nursing home. Mr. Baker was the owner of Baker Electric in Brown County.
He was a Baptist and a devout Christian. He is survived by his daughter, Tina Lack & husband, Tom of Bluffdale, Texas, grandchildren Brandon Lack, Colton Lack, and Jessica Jones.
He is also survived by his sisters Wanda Gibbs and Betty Minica & husband Larry, all of Brownwood, and a brother Kenneth Baker and wife Linda of Tyler. He is survived by his wife, Anna Baker of Brookesmith. His surviving stepchildren are Danny and wife Karen Foster of Hico, Garry Foster & wife Lisa of Ft. Worth, & Tamme and husband Robbie Ells of Wisconsin. He had 11 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Leslie Baker and his parents L.J. and Velma Baker.The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm at Blaylock Funeral Home, 1914 Indian Creek in Brownwood. Services for Mr. Baker will be at 2:00 Friday in the Blaylock Funeral Chapel of Brownwood, with Bill Slaymaker & Steve Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Winchell Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America . Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
