A graveside service for Jerry McEwin, age 69 , of Brownwood, Texas will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday July 20, 2017 at the Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. He passed away Friday at his residence.
Jerry Arnold was born on May 13, 1948 in Brownwood, Texas to Ores Eldon and Rena Mae Huggins McEwin. He was raised in Zephyr, Texas where he graduated from high school and on August 24, 1996 he married Ella Gay Dobbins Majors in Brownwood. He had formerly been a baptist minister, worked at the Heartland Mall in Early and enjoyed making barbed wire art.
Survivors include his wife Ella Gay McEwin of Brownwood; children Scott Majors and wife Misty of Temple, Texas and Joanna Kirby and husband Alan Abilene, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters Patsy Ratliff of Snyder, Texas, Suzanne Gilby of San Angelo, Texas and Joyce Rogers and husband Mickey of Snyder. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
