Jerry “J.R.” Peel, age 74, of Corpus Christi, formerly of Brownwood was reunited with the love of his life on Friday, February 14, 2020, in Corpus Christi.
Funeral Services for Jerry will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held prior to services from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Jerry was born on December 18, 1945, to Ruby Wolf and Helton Ewing Peel in San Saba. He married Betty Lee Holland on May 10,1962. He loved fishing, was a jack of all trades and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He had a love for gambling, from lottery scratch offs to casinos, but his biggest win was always his wife.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Jerry Wayne Peel, Roy Eugene Peel, Sammy James Peel all of Brownwood and Danny Ray Peel of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Jeffrey Williams, Jeremy Peel, Brandi Burkett, Casey Peel, Brittani Hopkins, Amber Edmiston, Dustin Moorehead, Jennifer Wilkerson, Johnny Wilkerson, Kimberly Wilkerson, Amanda Peel, Tiffany Peel and Tabitha Peel; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Helton Sonny Peel; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Peel; his only daughter, Terri Lin Peel; granddaughter, Nikki Peel; his parents; 2 brothers, Don and Jesse Peel; sister, Lucy Peel; and 2 great-grandsons.
