JayAdamsFuneral services for Jay F. Adams, age 53, of Bangs, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday June 6, 2010 at the Bangs First Baptist Church with Elder Hugh Montgomery officiating. Graveside service, under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home, to follow at Payne Gap Cemetery in Mills County with Elder Ward Rowell officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Adams passed away June 3, 2010 in the Brownwood hospital.

Jay was born April 19, 1957 in San Saba, TX to Frank W. and Johnnie Comer Adams. He married Wanda English on November 27, 1982 in Beeville, TX. Jay served as Pastor at the Willow Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Comanche, the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Lampasas and the Union Primitive Baptist Church in Lamkin. Jay worked as a coach and teacher for the Bangs Independent School District for 25 years, where he coached many different ages and sports during that time. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing for catfish with his friends and family.

Jay is survived by his wife Wanda Adams of Bangs; three daughters, Erin Lassiter and husband Adam of College Station, Mattie Adams of Cleburne, and Callie Adams of Bangs; his parents, Frank and Johnnie Adams of Moline, TX; a sister, Tammy Dyer and husband Gordon of Bangs, and numerous nieces and nephews.
