Jason Steffey, age 41, of Coleman, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

He was born Michael Jason Steffey on October 11, 1978 in Brownwood, Texas to Michael Jerry Steffey and Angela “Angie” Rene Lowrey Monroe.  Jason grew up in Coleman and graduated from Panther Creek High School in 1997.  He then attended Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater obtaining his certification as an H-VAC Technician.  Jason was a sports fanatic.  He absolutely loved participating and coaching his children in all sports.  Jason was a major fan of the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, L.A. Lakers, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.  His favorite collegiate team was Texas A&M, and was super proud that his oldest son, Cayden, is currently enrolled at the university.  Jason loved being outdoors playing horseshoes or throwing some washers with his friends.  Most of all, Jason loved his children and spending time with them.

Jason is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wanda and Jerry Steffey; Patsy Lowrey; Ardell and Wanda Monroe.

He is survived by his children, Cayden Steffey of College Station, Connor Steffey of Coleman, Jaylie Steffey of Coleman; his mother, Angie Monroe and husband Dewayne of Valera; his father, Mike Steffey of Austin; one sister, Brandi Slate and husband Travis of Coleman; one brother, Dillon McKee of California; two nieces, Parker Slate and Quinn Slate of Coleman; and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorials in memory of Jason are suggested to the Coleman Athletic Booster Club.

Services are private.  Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
