Brownwood News – Join the Early Chamber of Commerce on January 31, at 11:30 am, on the campus of Howard Payne University, for the January Lunch and Learn. This Lunch and Learn topic is How to Hire, Evaluate, and Fire Employees. We will be exploring the best practices for these Human Resources issues with VP of Business and Human Resources, Bill Fishback.
Bill Fishback is a graduate of Texas Tech University and has served as an administrator at Howard Payne for 28 years. He has served as HPU’s CFO, as a development officer and currently serves as Associate VP for Business and Human Resources, a role he has enjoyed for the last 13 years. He is responsible for HR, payroll, university risk management, contract administration and Title IX compliance. Prior to coming to Brownwood, Bill served as CFO of El Centro Community College in Dallas, Business Manager at Angelina College in Lufkin, and CFO of New Mexico Jr. College in Hobbs. Bill has served on many local boards including the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and he currently serves as Treasurer for CASA in the Heart of Texas. Bill’s wife, Cecil, is a Speech Therapist for the Comanche Small Schools Co-Op. They have two grown sons who graduated from Early High School. Bill and Cecil are active in various ministries at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
Bill Fishback will be joined by Katrina Lynn. Katrina Lynn is the Business and Human Resources Coordinator for Howard Payne University. She has 18 years of HR experience, having worked three years at the T.R. Havins Unit and the last 15 years at Howard Payne. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business from HPU. She serves on the university’s Staff Council and is treasurer of the HPU Women’s Club.
Katrina has lived in Brownwood for 28 years. She is married to Stephen Lynn, Head Baseball Coach for Howard Payne and they have an eight-year old daughter, Brooklyn. Katrina is involved as a pre-k Sunday School teacher and leader of the 5th grade Awana’s class at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
