Janis Ruth Gonterman, age 61 of Early, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at her home. Janis was born on January 14, 1951 in Snyder, Texas to Everett Gonterman and Billie Ruth Townsend. She was raised in Brownwood and worked in Fort Worth and Dallas then returned to Early due to illness.
Janis is survived by her father, Everett Gonterman of Springfield, Missouri; her mother, Billie Taylor of Early; her brother, Bobby Taylor, also of Early; two half brothers, Kenneth Gonterman and John Gonterman of Springfield, Missouri; a half sister, Rayna Gonterman, also of Springfield; a cousin, Jerry Trout of Arizona; and her lifelong partner, Evelyn Maddox of Early.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Terry Collum; her grandmother, Lillian Littlefield; an aunt, Jean Kitchens; a cousin, Gary Kitchens; and her great grandparents.
